A man has died after being struck twice by a vehicle at the entrance to a parking lot in northeast Calgary early Monday, according to the Calgary Police Service.
Police said the collision happened at approximately 5:40 a.m. on October 26, 2026, in the community of Martindale. A westbound driver attempted to enter a parking lot at 135 Martindale Boulevard N.E., where a pedestrian was lying on the sidewalk in front of the entrance.
According to investigators, the vehicle passed over the pedestrian. After discovering the parking lot gate was closed, the driver reversed, passing over the man a second time. The driver then used another entrance to reach the lot and parked.

The victim has not been publicly identified. Police have not announced any charges in their October 26 release, and the investigation is continuing.
The incident was initially reported Monday morning as a serious-injury collision near Martinbrook Gate and Martindale Boulevard. Police confirmed the death in an afternoon update.
