Calgary police have identified nine communities that will be the focus of mobile photo radar enforcement during November 2026, according to an announcement published October 31.

The Calgary Police Service says photo radar vehicles will concentrate on Altadore, Auburn Bay, Cambrian Heights, Glamorgan, Glenbrook, Patterson, Silver Springs, Varsity and Wildwood.

Police may also deploy mobile photo radar vehicles in construction zones where workers are present.

The November enforcement list

Altadore; Auburn Bay; Cambrian Heights; Glamorgan; Glenbrook; Patterson; Silver Springs; Varsity; and Wildwood.

The monthly announcement identifies neighbourhoods rather than specific street addresses or deployment times. It describes areas of focus, not the only places where traffic laws will be enforced.

Intersection cameras operate separately

Calgary also has 57 intersection safety-camera sites equipped to capture red-light violations. Five of those sites can also detect speed-on-green violations, according to CPS.

Photo radar tickets are issued to the registered owner of a vehicle after images are reviewed by a trained CPS peace officer. Automated-enforcement tickets do not carry demerit points, and police say they do not affect a driver's insurance or driving record.

Speeding fines depend on how far above the posted limit a vehicle travels. CPS says violations exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 kilometres per hour result in an appearance before a judge.

The Calgary Police Service says automated enforcement is part of its work with the City of Calgary's Safer Mobility Plan, which aims to prevent serious injuries and deaths on the road.
