The youth was arrested on Sept. 3 following an investigation by the RCMP’s Integrated National Security Enforcement Team. Charges include participating in the activity of a terrorist group, facilitating terrorist activity and committing an offence for a terrorist group. The teen is also charged with distributing and possessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material, along with causing unnecessary suffering to an animal. Police have not released details about the specific alleged acts behind the charges. The 764 network was formally listed as a terrorist entity by the federal government in December 2025. Public Safety Canada describes it as a decentralized online network that targets and manipulates young people, including through social media, gaming platforms and private messaging. RCMP have previously warned that networks such as 764 can pressure victims into sexual exploitation, self-harm, violence or harming animals, with material sometimes used to further control or extort them. The accused cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and is scheduled to appear in Lethbridge court on Oct. 14.
